The Meeting was called to order by President Kowolonek.

The Pledge of Allegiance occurred.

A moment of Silence was observed for deceased members of UWUA Local 600.

Roll call was taken by Treasurer Boykin. All board members present.

Previous month’s minutes were ready by Secretary Wallace. A motion was made by Delegate Long to accept the reading of last’s month’s minutes. Second by Treasurer Boykin. Discussion for corrections/additions to previous month’s minutes. Motion passed.

The Financial Report was given by Treasurer Boykin. Treasurer Boykin discussed amounts transferred within accounts to cover billing from 2019 Contract Negotiations and current bills due for Local 600. A motion was made by Delegate Loerich to accept the financial report. Second by Delegate Waller. Motion passed. Copy of Financial Report on file at Local 600 Office, (note current report ran prior to monthly bills being processed for payment.)

Unfinished Business – President Kowolonek
  • UEIP – meeting scheduled for 4-29-2019 with LR
  • Donation to Dragonfly Event for 2019, UWUA Local 600 will sponsor half-page ad using the same information from last year’s donation information. Will review the number for tickets and will hold a raffle to distribute those tickets to the membership.
  • Arbitration #424 was processed on 04-05-2019 and 04-23-2019. Hearing is complete we await arbitrator’s decision.
  • Contract Vote to be processed 05-01-2019 at Local 600 Hall. The Election Committee will process count and the membership will be notified of results via robo call to membership at 6:00pm on 05-01-2019.
New business
  • UWUA National Convention will be held July 24, 2019 through July 27, 2019, in Las Vegas
  • Dial One- CBT – phone issues have been corrected, have also updated contact number for President Kowolonek and Vice President Hoffman for any emergencies.
  • Clothing Allowance discussion with management regarding Instrument Control Technicians and new FR requirements. (Phone call with President Kowolonek and Vice President Hoffman with department management.)
  • Union Cards – President Kowolonek to contact UWUA, National to purchase and have printed with Weingarten Act on the back of cards.
Report of officers, delegates and committees
  • Vice President Hoffman – discussed with our legal counsel regarding offering service to membership regarding wills, POA etc. Will update membership if this service can be provided.
  • Delegate Loerich – discussed information received regarding personnel from American Income Life being very aggressive in reaching out to union membership regarding home visits.
  • Delegate McLaughlin – discussion regarding union work being processed by semi-monthly is scheduled to end May 2019. Also discussed department hires – three (3) new personnel.
  • Delegate Wright – noted that responses received from membership was that union talks with membership regarding contract were very informative.
  • Delegate Long – Local 600 2019 Annual Picnic. Vice-President Hoffman and Delegate Long discussed having the event at Coney Island (dates proposed August 10 or August 17 2019.) They will make contact with venue for pricing and packages (with rides/food etc.)
