The Meeting was called to order by President, via teleconference (due to COVID-19.)

The Pledge of Allegiance occurred.

A moment of Silence was observed for deceased members of UWUA Local 600. (Cynthia Gaines & Debbie Farley.)

Roll call was taken by. Treasurer Waller, all board members present.

A motion was made by Vice-President Hoffman to dispense with the reading of last month’s minutes. Second by Treasurer Waller. Motion passed.

The financial Report was given by Treasurer Waller. A motion was made by Delegate Victoria King to accept the Financial Report. Second by Delegate McLaughlin. Motion passed. Copy of the Financial Report is on file at Local 600 office.

Communications – President Kowolonek – A donation was made to JW.com in memory of Cynthia Gaines and Local 600 received a Thank You Acknowledgement from the family.

Unfinished Business –President Kowolonek
• Vice-President Hoffman – Network Engineering Specialist, (Underground), member’s upgrade issue has been resolved. Discussion (Delegate Wright) when does the upgrade start and are there any other positions to be posted? President Kowolonek will follow regarding the upgrade and the postings and will update Delegates Wright and Lyshe; (during the COVID-19) there were no postings. (2) positions posted.
• Return to work – President Kowolonek – notify Local 600 with information of how and when membership is going back to work. What areas will be going and any processes. Per Delegate Wright – Transmission will have a test pilot.
• Training for Reps and Delegates- President Kowolonek has discussed with Greg Adams Local 175 and Kelly Cooper National Rep regarding 2-day union training. Suggested split training or a Zoom training meeting. President Kowolonek is soliciting ideas from the board.
• Grievance #440 – President Kowolonek has received items from information request to company and will review with the member.
• Gas Department – President Kowolonek and Delegate McLaughlin spoke with management regarding contractors doing work and how the work will flow, if same procedures will be in place and if there is an over-flow of work will this be work for contractors. Discussion (Delegate McLaughlin) What are the different types of contractors the company employees; contingent workers and contractors.
• Website – President Kowolonek was able to view a mock-up for the Local 600 website. Reviewed some of the things we can do with it and information we can use. Do we want to use a picture of the hall or a sign as our banner? Also discussed a Facebook page for Local 600.

• NEW BUSINESS
• Picnic for Local 600 – May be impacted by COVID-19 this year. Think about other ideas for the membership. Please reach out to President or Vice-President with suggestions.
• Major Projects – Discussed Dana/ Colerain bid areas as it regards: Sr T & D Technicians and T & D Technicians, Engineering Specialists I, II and III and CPC’s are all in the same bid areas. Discussions regarding “contractually” per letter. President Kowolonek will setup to discuss with management.

• REPORT OF OFFICERS, DELEGATES AND COMMITTEES
• Vice- President Hoffman – Email regarding the AFL-CIO Golf Outing – Local 600 will sponsor one (1) Team for tournament on August 14, 2020. This will be communicated to the membership to see if interested. Members who attend will need to have management approval and utilize their own personal day or vacation day. Discussion: team will consist of four (4) members, how will they be selected? One (1) team member from the board (will be selected from those who have an interest) and three (3) members selected from the membership. Proposed using a robo-call to get the information out to the membership
• Vice- President Hoffman – Supervisors doing union work. Please note if a member needs something investigated – this should be done only by the representative or delegate. Contact LR, Local 600 President or Vice-President. The member should not be investigating or collecting information. Each Delegate should process investigations for their assigned areas.
• Delegate Wright – Discussions regarding contingent workers and need to try to have them hired as full-time employees in GIS. President Kowolonek needs information when they are a part of meetings and they shouldn’t be.
• Delegate Jason King – Questions regarding return to work and equipment used. Recommends that members be allowed to continue using the same equipment (i.e. laptops.)
• Delegate V. King – Discussion Call Center working from home overall is going well. Has processed three (3) fact-findings. Resignation, Priority calls and dropped calls.
