The Meeting was called to order by Vice-President Hoffman, via teleconference (due to COVID-19.)

The Pledge of Allegiance occurred.

A moment of Silence was observed for deceased members of UWUA Local 600.

Roll call was taken by Treasurer Loerich.  President Kowolonek absent.  All board members present.

A motion was made by Delegate Jason King to omit the reading of the minutes from April 21, 2021 and for all to review copy of minutes received via email draft for approval.  Second by Treasure Loerich.  Motion passed.  Approved.   A copy of Minutes will be posted on the Local 600 website.

The financial Report was given by Treasurer Loerich.  Copy of the Financial Report is on file at Local 600 office.   

Communications –Vice- President – Received Thank You Card from the Family of Mrs. Thelma Ann Johnson, (mother of Secretary Wallace.)

Unfinished Business – Vice- President Hoffman

  • Grievance #443 – Delegate Jason Long – Grievance settled.
  • American Income Life – Robo call from UWUA Local 600 went out to membership 26 May 2021, regarding letters being mailed to membership regarding Accidental Life Insurance Policy and process.
  • UWUA National Women’s Caucus – Delegate McLaughlin – provided updated regarding information sheets for membership being finalized and mail via USPS to all membership.  With Thanks to committee members who worked on this project: Jeff Moore, Kim Cueto and Deanna Wyche and President Kowolonek.
  • Meter Change Out- Program – Discussion – Treasurer Loerich, Vice-President Hoffman, (additional discussions to include and update President Kowolonek.)
  • Engineering Specialist Meeting – Delegate Wright – Discussion of 13 positions all have been filled.  Two groups of hires- 11 positions – processed 3 weeks ago, 2- positions 2 weeks ago.  Delegate Wright was able to meet with the 2nd group processed.
  • OC Positions – Delegate Jason King – Five (5) additional OC position posted (Delegate Jason King is awaiting hand-raising to be processed on 2 June 2021.)  Positions will be posted at conclusion of hand-raising.  Two (2) – positions Queensgate, Two (2) – positions Colerain, One (1) position Dana
  • Call Center – Wage Raise- Vice-President Hoffman – UWUA Local 600 and the Company approved a pay increase for the Call Center reps’ positions.  Discussion.
  • Portal Information – Delegate Aaron Wright – discussed email sent regarding salaries (per CBA) differs with what is posted on UWUA Local 600 portal from contract.  Hourly wages posted, verify if correct.  Follow-up.
  • Customer Satification Award – Delegate Aaron Wright and member Craig Hutchinson were award recipients.  This award was present per The Customer Delivery Midwest Excellence Award for the Richwood Road/ Mount Zion Highway Relocation Project Team.
  • System Integrity Technicians – Monfort Heights – President Kowolonek meet with new hires.
  • Dial-One – President Kowolonek – meet with technician at Local 600 Union Hall to have system checked and test.  Passed.
  • Work From Home – Discussion – Meetings to be held with management regarding new Work Smart Program.
  • UWUA Local 600 – Training – Virtual Training will be provided from the National (Steve Wyatt- National Rep), this will be an All-Day Training held at the Marriott in Covington Kentucky.  More information will be sent regarding date in late June 2021 or early July 2021.
  • Vice-President Hoffman – By-Laws Committee meet 19 May 2021 to review and update information from prior review.  Committee will meet again over the next few weeks to continue process for changes, updates and corrections.  Committee members- Vice-President Hoffman, Treasurer-Loerich and Secretary Wallace.
  • Secretary Wallace – UWUA Women’s Caucus discussed information that could be placed on the UWUA Local 600 to provide updates regarding the Women’s Cacaus and different training opportunities via online training and others.
  • Delegate Jason King – Discussion planning for a UWUA Local 600 to bring all of membership together.  Discussion – best time begin planning, looking at what gatherings look like going- forward with COVID (what restrictions will still be in place.)  Review with after lifted COVID restrictions June 2021.
  • Delegate Victoria King – Discussing fact-finding (working through), Medical leaves, Zoom Meetings – hoping to have more of these in interim, in Call Center area.
  • Delegate McLaughlin – Discussed more on UWUA National Women’s Caucus information and ideas to form with those within Local 600 more to share ideas regarding what we can do.  Placing information on our Local 600 website that would be helpful to members.  Discussed training from National Women’s Caucus in June 2021.
  • Delegate Wright – Discussed fact-finding and written letters on file.  Questions regarding new training and systems coming to call center and different work areas.  (Regarding Customer Connect Program.)  Per Delegate Victoria King – this training hasn’t begun within the Mid-West (Cincinnati) Call Center.
  • Delegate Jason King – Fact Findings – Discussion regarding process and things to remember.
  • Delegate Knight – Fact Findings – Discussion regarding opportunities for coaching training is this provided on initial/fact finding issues.  (Vice-President Hoffman will review to address)

Delegate Jason King made a motion to adjourn.  Second by Delegate McLaughlin.  Meeting adjourned.
